Barcelona to host the 13th European Biotechnology CongressThe European Biotechnology Federation has chosen the Catalan capital as the host for the 13th edition of its European Congress. It will take place in Barcelona for the first time between the 16th and 19th of September.
According to the organisers, the meet could gather more than a thousand scientists whose work involves analysing the application of biotechnology to the greater challenges of the human race. Christian Suojanen, the federation's secretary general, explained that some of the areas foreseen include diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, problems related to the supply of water and food, as well as stem cell therapies.
