Tarragona to have the new Centre for Chemical Technology

Tarragona's technology park is to have the new Centre for Chemical Technology, an initiative co-financed by the Catalan Government and the Spanish Ministry of Industry.

The project is to receive investments of 10.2 million euros and is expected to be in operation by 2009. The new facilities are to carry out R&D activities for the chemical sector and will focus on new materials, biofuels and water technologies.

"This centre aims to be the place for big and SME's, universities and local institutions to get help to increase competitiveness and promote the creation of businesses and jobs in Catalonia", Josep Huguet, the Catalan minister of Innovation said.
