The new Alguaire airport in Lleida will move around 44 million euros and will create around 1,140 new jobs in the next four years, a report from the Chamber of Commerce of Lleida said.

The new facilities, expected to start operations by 2008, is to offer passenger and cargo flights. For the first four years, the report expects to see around half a million passengers and 4,516 tons of cargo. Alguaire is to be the first airport facility to be under the control of the Catalan Government.
