The Consortium for Advanced Studies in Barcelona promotes the quality of Catalan universities

The Universitat de Barcelona, The Universitat Autònoma and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra are to welcome around 30 students from some of the most prestigious American universities who will continue their studies in Barcelona for one academic year. The initiative is part of an exchange program promoted by the Consortium for Advanced Studies in Barcelona (CASB), an alliance of some first-class American universities. For 2007, Barcelona is to receive students from Brown University, University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Cornell, Harvard and Princeton. The program aims to promote the internationalization and modernization of Catalan universities so that they can eventually be among the leading academic institutions in the world.
