Recent Investments

Spanish food group Casa Tarradellas has built a new plant in Gurb to produce frozen pre-cooked dishes. The new facilities, with an investment of 30 million euros, will add 100 new jobs. This is the first time Casa Tarradellas enters the frozen food business. The company has become one of the main suppliers to Valencia-based supermarket chain Mercadona, providing frozen pizzas and other food products under the Hacendado brand.

Casa Tarradellas boasts five production plants in Gurb and Vic, with a total of 1,200 workers. In 2006, the company posted revenue of 470 million euros, a 10.6% increase compared to a year earlier. In the past three years, investments have increased to 60 million euros, the company said.
