Alstom to set up a wind engineering centre in BarcelonaFrench multinational company Alstom is to install in Barcelona a new wind engineering center at the 22@ district. The move aims to strengthen the activity of its subsidiary Ecotecnia. The new Barcelona-based research center will be Alstom's only facility devoted to wind research and will create 180 new jobs over the next three years.
Alstom Spain president, Antonio Porto, noted that the project is part of Ecotecnia business plan to triple sales by 2010. This new center will be the fourth facility owned by Alstom in Catalonia.
