American Airlines (AA) will begin daily service between Barcelona and JFK beginning April 25, 2008, the company said. The announcement is to increase to three the number of daily connections between the Catalan capital and New York. American will fly the new route with its two-class (Business and Economy) 767-300 aircraft with 221 seats.

The new AA flight increases to seven the daily connections with North America, a figure that accounts for 29% of all intercontinental activity at Barcelona's El Prat airport. The U.S. remains the main market for the Catalan capital.
