Bayer chooses Barcelona to set up a research center for paints and coatings

German multinational company Bayer has set up its new global research and production facilities for paints and coatings in Barcelona. The new center had a cost of 2 million euros and will offer around 1,400 square meters.

The facility will be home to some 80 professionals who will develop new products in the field of paints and coatings. According to Frank Bertram, Bayer Hispania CEO, the new laboratory will be part of Bayer's Material Science division, dedicated to paints, adhesives and specialty chemicals.

Mr. Bertram also said that Bayer will decide this year the location chosen to increase production of clinical material, a business that could end up in the Bayer plant in Tarragona.
