Objective
To facilitate and foster the participation of renewable energies SMEs in the 7th Framework Programme.
At a more operative level the projects has the following objectives:
- To identify the innovative potential of renewable energies SMEs.
- To look for renewable energies SMEs with capacity to participate in the 7th FP.
- To organize sectorial workshops at a European level.
- To offer the consortium's experts support and help to the SMEs which participate in the project.
Results - To identify 4000 European SMEs of the renewable energies sector, 300 of which will be selected to participate in FIRE.
- To determine the degree of innovation in 200 SMEs of the renewable energies sector by means of audits.
- To organize 10 workshops.
- Participation of 150 SMEs of the FIRE project at the 7th FP.
- Spreading of a guide with successful cases regarding the preparation of SMEs for the participation in the 7th FP.
- When possible, separation of SMEs in clusters.

Role of the CIDEM in the project
The CIDEM leads the work package "Workshops and Project Road-mapping", due to its experience in workshops of European projects creation. It also co-leads the work package "SME Targeting and Selection".
Tasks:
- Design of the questionnaire and the selection methodology of participating SMEs.
- Design of the workshops' methodology and structure.
