Objective

To strengthen the relationship between companies and research groups from different European regions with the aim of fostering the international technological cooperation and increasing their business competitiveness.

At a more operative level, the project has the following objectives:

• To create prospective studies in the fields of food, aeronautics, pharmacology, renewable energies, biotechnology, advanced materials, mechatronics and processes applied to the textile.
• To carry out technology transfer projects between the centres of the regions that take part in the project.
• To carry out support projects for the creation of technology-based enterprises in which entities from the project's regions participate.   

Results 

1. 4 studies of sectorial prospective, one of which will be focused on Catalonia.
2. 4 studies of technological prospective, one of which will be focused on Catalonia.
3. 8 meetings of experts in different sectors/technologies to define potential projects.
4. Funding of 8 - 12 interregional technology transfer projects.
5. Funding of 8 - 12 interregional projects to support the creation of technology-based enterprises.
6. Meetings for the dissemination of results, projects meetings and reunions with European institutions.
7. Web and promotional brochures of projects.

Role of the CIDEM in the project 

The CIDEM coordinates the project. It is also leader of the Component 1 Management and coordination (Gestion et coordination) and Component 4 Select, control and cofinance support projects for the technology transfer to SMEs (Sélection, contrôle et cofinancement des sous projets soutenant le transfert de technologie vers des PME existantes).

Tasks: 

• General coordination of the project.
• To plan all the tasks of the components 1 and 4.
• To organize consortiums meetings. There are a total of 7 annual meetings (4 technical meetings, 2 steering committees and 1 advisory group).
• To lead 2 prospective studies and participate in 6 more.
• Identification of Catalan entities which are interested in taking part in the MATEO subprojects.
• To open new financial help lines for subprojects. Monitor all those projects in which Catalan entities participate.
• To draw up monitoring and financial reports every 6 months.
